In the news – WCAX feature today on Zero Waste.  Cheryl Eaton of Jericho has challenged herself to a “zero waste week”.  Follow her progress on her blog.  It would be interesting to see occasionally how close we could come, kind of like fasting for a day to start appreciating your daily bread again.

    I’ve been checking in on Cheryl’s progress with an eye toward how our Market would help someone trying this exercise. Her local co-op evidently doesn’t carry bulk shampoo or conditioner, which our market does. And we also carry bulk baking soda, which many folks use for various toiletry purposes. It’s interesting to follow along and see what we can carry to help us all reduce our footprint.
